Eucharistic ministers are lay people who volunteer and are trained by the Church to assist the priest in distributing Holy Communion at Mass. They also help in bringing the Eucharist to the sick at area hospitals and nursing homes, and make home visits to those unable to participate in community worship.
Each minister receives instructions dealing with the role of lay ministers, with an emphasis on the Eucharist. Eucharistic ministers assist in the nourishing of God's children with the Body and Blood of Christ.
Eucharistic ministers are needed for all Masses. If you are interested in this spiritually rewarding ministry, please contact Carol Salva at (570) 586-1741.
